Mobility and Performance Coaching with Logan Gray, CSCS
I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with a passionate view of physical activity as a powerful and underappreciated tool towards improving quality of life and reclaiming our connection to body and self. My journey began from personal challenges- overcoming childhood obesity and managing scoliosis and chronic inflammation through a newfound love for movement. Through my practice of personal training and 1-on-1 assisted stretching, I've witnessed how many of us push through chronic pain and discomfort. Our bodies are interconnected, powerfully resilient and adaptive systems, and the deliberate and caring application of "good stress" (eustress) can enable us to surpass our starting points, wherever they may be.
Permamotion represents the combination of the principles of physical training with those of permaculture, a practical framework most often used for sustainable land management and agriculture practices. Permaculture, at its core, is a "Systems-based" methodology, and this is where the greatest applications to training stem from:
When I'm working with clients, these principles guide my approach and combine with the evidence-based, performance-focused background given to me through my degree and CSCS training. In seeing the various movement patterns we are capable of (squatting, pushing, pulling, hinging, etc.) within spectrums of ability rather than just pass or fail, anyone can experience the positive impact movement can have on our lives. Our goals and our starting points may be unique, but everyone is capable of building athleticism, resilience, and greater ability through movement.
Movement is for everyone, regardless of age, body type, experience level, or physical condition. Too often, fitness is portrayed as exclusive—something only for the already-fit or athletically gifted. At Permamotion, I reject this notion entirely. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, beginning your fitness journey, or looking to reach new performance heights, my approach adapts to meet you exactly where you are.
My services are available at Superhero Fitness in Portland's Central Eastside (345 SE Yamhill Ave). I am also able to travel to you for stretches and, if you have your own equipment, for personal training!
